It all started with the fact that I, Anna, the founder of THE ONE 1, am always very, very cold, even in summer when I'm just sitting in the shade. Autumn and winter were always hard for me: gloomy, with no wish to go outside, and I literally went into hibernation in every area of my life.
I hated putting on thermal underwear as thick as a fur coat, then sweaters and trousers, and feeling like a clumsy cabbage. Bending over outside became an ordeal. The wind still got in everywhere, I was tense and shivering, and got no joy from being outside.
And if I went into a café to warm up, I started sweating, carried a pile of layers in my hands and kept pulling up trousers that slid down over my thermal underwear. Thermal underwear like that is reliable protection from any date. Like an amulet.)
Style was out of the question: dressing stylishly meant being cold, angry and staying in.
Then ONE day I saw a jumpsuit, cheap and Chinese in the worst sense of the word, ordered it to try on and realised it was the answer. It was one-piece, warm, and the wind didn't get in anywhere. I realised this was my way to freedom and to enjoying winter walks. So I started working on the perfect jumpsuit.
It had to be warm and cozy, incredibly soft inside, so it felt like being wrapped in a cloud.
At the same time, it had to look stylish, not like a sack, and suit any occasion, at home or in a café. That meant the right fabric. And most importantly, the fit: comfortable to bend, lie down, sit and stand in. I was looking for a second-skin feel. It had to be a jumpsuit that shows off the figure and hides what you want hidden, not a shapeless sack.
I should say that I have nothing to do with fashion or sewing; I can't even sew on a button. There were many tries and many mistakes. Add to that the fact that I had only $1,000 of my own savings for the idea. All I had was faith in the idea and enthusiasm.
I worked on styles and designs, searched for fabrics and met people. And my first jumpsuit, a black Original, went out into the world. That was six years ago. One model, no advertising, and it sold like hot cakes.
Six years later you are in the same store, but with a completely different size range and lineup. Still with the same soul, love, warmth and comfort.
I still jump into my jumpsuit from +18 °C and enjoy life whatever the weather.
I keep making mistakes, learning about cutting and sewing and improving the jumpsuits. For example, the lower-back zipper for going to the toilet without taking the jumpsuit off: that detail sent the popularity of our jumpsuits sky-high.
We have several workshops across Ukraine. We buy the best fabric directly from factories, by the ton, and our trims and accessories are made specially for us at the best factories. We are bought by celebrities, TV shows, sports teams and companies whose teams work outdoors.
Our clients send us their videos and photos, bring their friends, and now we are growing worldwide.
I'm always in touch on Instagram and keep an eye on what you love and what needs improving. I can message anyone spontaneously and enjoy it hugely. YOU are my growth point and the growth point of the jumpsuits. Thank you for being with us!
